SOUTH
FLORIDA HOMEOWNERS PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE SOIL ON YOUR PROPERTIES
CAN KILL YOUR PLANTS; AND FERTILIZING BY ITSELF
WITHOUT ADDRESSING
AND CHANGING THE SOIL'S SEVERE ALKALINITY WON'T CHANGE
THE OUTCOME!
THE REAL "PROBLEM" IS LITERALLY RIGHT UNDER YOUR FEET, FOLKS!
THE ISA SEAL RIGHT
ABOVE CAN ASSURE YOU THAT MY ONLY MISSION
IS TO MAKE AND KEEP SOUTH FLORIDA GREENER! YOU MUST PROTECT
YOUR EXPENSIVE TREES, PALMS & OTHER
LANDSCAPE PLANTS NOW.
|
What
most South Florida homeowners and commercial property owners don't
realize (or care to know) is just how
truly miserable the soil is
under and around all their landscapes' plants. The primary
reason that plants fail in South Florida is that they must try
to survive on our crushed, then steamrolled limestone rock (in the
western suburbs) or beach sand of the eastern third of the counties
we attempt to create a beautiful landscape upon.
I always tell my clients and my adult education students that the
only purpose South Florida's soil serves is "to hold plants up!"
It's true! Therefore, anyone who "feeds" a plant had better know exactly what amendments
their properties' soil needs way BEFORE they commence a plant
nutritional regimen.
If the soil's fertility and alkalinity
aren't improved BEFORE all else, your plants will ultimately sicken,
and die. That's a fact! Did you ever notice how bad many
trees & palms look AFTER they were fertilised?? That's not
supposed to happen, is it? Well, it DOES because the soil's
needs have been ignored and the result is "chemical
incompatibility.". Unhealthy soil cannot provide a good
home for your expensive landscapes' trees & other plants without
FIRST adjusting its pH (alkalinity level) and improving its porosity!
Paul,
The
Palm Doctor
always addresses this issue! It is fundamental &
essential to your plants' lives!
THE GROWING CONDITIONS
WHERE WE ALL LIVE ARE MISERABLE!!
Think
about it, fellow South Floridians! If you've ever driven out
on US 27, (SR 997) Krome Avenue, (I-75)"Alligator Alley", SR A1A, or on the Florida Keys'
"Overseas Hwy" (U.S. 1)? Did you ever notice what grows
naturally" along the roadsides? Grasses, some pines & cypress
trees, and the occasional palmetto palm; that's about it, really
(and not too many botanically eye-catching specimens, either.)
We want more tropical beauty in our home and business
environments than "nature" provides! Since our weather is so
mild most of the year, we can readily fall in love with (and
purchase) dozens of fabulously exotic palms, flowering & shade trees and shrubbery
from all over the subtropical parts of the globe.
All these
gorgeous botanical specimens give South Florida its "signature" look
but they do REQUIRE specific maintenance regimens to assure long,
healthy lives! Without the right care,
stunted, yellowing
foliage; weak root systems and susceptibility to insect infestations
and/or fungal infections are manifested.
Why do these beautiful non-native palms, trees, and other tropical
plants have so many problems thriving in southeast Florida? Because they come from lands with
different growing conditions including far better soils than is
naturally found locally.
EXAMINE
PALMDOCTOR, LLCs CREDENTIALS
"Out west," there's the serious problem
of too much moisture in a true reclaimed "swamp" that not only smothers and
drowns your plants' roots, but also leaches away any vestige of
beneficial minerals out of a plant's root zone. If that
weren't enough, these former wetlands' soils feature dangerously
HIGH alkalinity which makes essential minerals unavailable to the
plants' photosynthetic systems. This mineral imbalance causes the
plants to get weaker day by day...until death ensues, ultimately!
In the case of eastern Dade & Broward Counties' sandy soils, water
rapidly leaches away vestigal minerals away within minutes after a
heavy rain, taking any small amounts of necessary minerals along
with it.
Many plant professionals do know to
"basics" of tree nutrition...but it's doubtful that they arrive at
your home or place of business with a specific soil improvement
plan, customized for YOUR landscape environment.
DON'T WAIT UNTIL YOUR
TREES ALREADY LOOK POOR!
It's
far better to hire me (within 90 days) after your new plants are
installed for two reasons: 1. At that time, the commencement of my
services will be substantially less expensive. Why?
Because, It's far easier for me to adjust all detrimental factors in
their earliest stages. The results will always be better when I can help to get
your palms,
trees and/or your shrubbery "happier" relatively rapidly in their new home:
your landscape;
2. Plants usually fail very slowly and with quiet
subtlety,
and only a keen and trained eye notices any decline. When a
disease or insect infection occurs, its usually because the plants
are already weakened significantly. Healthy plants don't need
very much routine insect spraying as a rule. The earlier you
hire me the better for your expensive landscapes' plants! When
you hire me as your trees' "dietitian and diagnostician;" I MUST
MAKE SURE that your palms, trees, & shrubs are in the best
conditioned soil as is possible, and that they obtain a metered
amount of mineral nutrition every day. My patented 3-month
caplets assure success!
Can a tree maintenance service technician that just spends a few
moments throwing fertilizer granules around your yard, without
serious plant by plant inspection (and who has a company quota of 10 or 15
landscapes a day,) do everything I do as carefully as I do, ON MY
HANDS AND KNEES, at soil level? I think not! You & I eat
daily; plants need to "eat" daily also! My exclusive "total
care" technique assures the latter.
MY NUTRIENTS ARE
PROPRIETARY AND MY FEEDING METHODS ARE UNIQUE!
I
do NOT make a ring of fertiliser granules around your palms' and
trees' trunks; my caplets contain proprietary timed-release soil pH regulators
and multi-minerals & essential vitamins. They are always INSTALLED about
three or four inches IN THE SOIL, and tap into the plants' feeder
roots (not unlike an IV you might have been given at the hospital).
And I give it for the same reason; it provides a more direct conduit
of essential minerals to your trees, shrubs, and ground cover
plants' nutritional uptake system (the xylem & phloem of your
plants' stems!) Going back to that famous & all to familiar
"ring of food" around your trees. Nothing makes me angrier,
than to see that ring!! Sitting on top of the soil, as it
does, it gets more and more "caked up" as weeks go by, and the salt
concentration increases alarmingly, right above your trees' roots.
Doesn't sound too bad? Think
again! That caked ring of what used to be fertiliser has now
changed its composition (with the help of Florida's broiling sun
PLUS your sprinkler system, which just wets the ground down to a few
inches.) As the daily temperature usually exceeds 90 F., the
drying accelerates and you often find that the excessively built up
salts in that "food ring" are now BURNING YOUR EXPENSIVE PLANTS
ROOTS! I avoid that problem by utilising subterranean
nutritional methodology. It's not perfect, but it's pretty
darned close!
CALL ME, IF WHAT I'VE
WRITTEN MAKES SENSE TO YOU!
(BUT PLEASE, DO NOT CALL ME IF YOU ONLY WANT A "ONE SHOT DEAL"!
I
will not abandon your plants. Period! I've kept them thriving
(not always an easy task); I would appreciate your courtesy of a
long-term
relationship with them. Your long-term business IS my financial health. I
am your landscape's professional dietitian. I am due the same
PROFESSIONAL respect that you give your cardiologist, your banker, your personal
trainer, or your mate.

If
hiring me seems like it might be too big a hassle (and expense) for
you, call the other ersatz "Palm Doctors," your grass cutter, pest
control person, or your landscaper for that matter. They will take
your money (and probably charge you less...for that clumping pile of
caked and now toxic mineral salts.) These are the same people
that I never have seen at the yearly recertification exams for State
of Florida licensure.
If you need to save money by skimping on
the landscapes' nutrition, then
Paul,
The
Palm Doctor
probably isn't the man you want! And I have more than
enough commercial & construction work to keep me busy daily.
On the other hand, if your plants could talk, they'd say: "call
Paul, if you REALLY love us!" DO YOU LOVE YOUR
LANDSCAPES' PLANTS? Only you know the answer to that, friends!
